This is prime territory for entry-level Chromebooks with Intel Celeron N Series processors, embedded MultiMediaCard (eMMC) flash storage, and 11- to 14-inch displays that are geared toward light multitasking.
Why we like it
One of our favorite Chromebooks for kids, this lightweight 2-in-1 laptop features a 14-inch touchscreen NanoEdge display and a 10-hour battery life. It’s a pretty bare-bones machine overall, but it’s plenty capable of handling basic tasks like web browsing, word processing, and sending emails. Amazon(Opens in a new tab) just put it on sale for $258, which is 49% off its suggested retail price of $504.99 and its best deal(Opens in a new tab) to date.

The latest MacBook Air took home a coveted Mashable’s Choice Award for its sleek redesign, lightning-fast M2 chip, and exceptional keyboard (no more butterfly!), with tech reporter Alex Perry deeming it “a no-brainer” upgrade for anyone still using an older Apple machine. The base configuration with 256GB sold out on Amazon(Opens in a new tab) after dipping to its all-time-low price of $1,049 this week (a 13% savings), but Best Buy(Opens in a new tab) still had it in stock at the time of writing.
